Run by Kingsley Powers, founder.
You deal with him directly, from first call to go-live.

An example. Yours goes out with your business name and your own wording.

Built for businesses where the people doing the work are also the people answering the enquiries.

  • Trades and outdoor work
  • Builders and installers
  • Cleaning and property
  • Clinics and salons
  • Other appointment-based firms

The problem

Winning the enquiry is the expensive part. Losing it is the easy part.

You pay for enquiries with advertising, listings, a website, your reputation and your time. Then what happens next depends on someone remembering to do it while they're busy with something else.

  • Calls missed while you're on a job

Plenty of callers won't leave a voicemail. They just try the next number on the list.

  • Replies sent hours later

A web enquiry that waits until the evening is up against firms that answered at lunchtime.

  • Quotes nobody chases

The quote goes out, the week gets busy, and nobody checks whether the customer is still deciding.

  • Enquiries with no clear owner

Messages arrive by phone, email, website and social media. Everyone assumes someone else has replied.

  • Old enquiries left to go cold

People who asked once and didn't book are rarely contacted again, even though they already know your name.

  • Hours of repeat admin

Typing the same replies, reminders and review requests takes time that should go on paid work.

None of these is a big failure. Each is a small one, repeated every week. That's what makes them easy to ignore and expensive to keep.

The cost

What are missed enquiries worth to you?

Put in your own numbers. Nothing is sent anywhere; it just does the sum.

Work those enquiries would normally bring in

£2,600 a month

That's about £31,200 a year, at your usual win rate.

This is a ceiling, not a forecast. Some callers ring back and some jobs were never right for you. The useful question, and the one we answer on the enquiry check, is how much of it a better process could keep.

The core service is £197 a month. At your numbers, keeping one extra £400 job a month would cover it about twice over.

What we put in place

Three simple automations that close the most common gaps.

This is our core service. It runs alongside your existing phone and website, and every message is written with you and approved by you before it goes live.

Missed-call text back

When you can't answer, the caller gets a text from your business straight away. They know they've reached you and that you'll be in touch.

Before
The phone rings out. The caller tries the next firm.
After
The caller gets your text and has a reason to wait.

Instant enquiry replies

New enquiries from your website get an immediate reply that confirms you've got their message and what happens next, day or night.

Before
The enquiry sits in an inbox until the evening.
After
The customer hears from you straight away.

Automatic review requests

When you mark a job as finished, your customer gets a polite request for a Google review, with a direct link to leave one.

Before
Happy customers mean to leave a review and forget.
After
Every finished job gets a well-timed request.

Core service

£197 a month

  • We set everything up and test it with you
  • You keep your existing number
  • No contract and no minimum term. Cancel any time
  • Full price confirmed in writing before anything is set up

Need more than the core?

The enquiry check often turns up other gaps. Where it's worth it, we can fix those too, and each one is scoped and priced in writing before any work starts.

  • Quote follow-up reminders
  • Contacting old enquiries and past customers
  • Appointment booking and reminders
  • Connecting the tools you already use

How it works

Four steps, and nothing goes live without your say-so.

  1. Free enquiry check

A 20-minute call with Kingsley. We look at how enquiries reach you and where they slip, and you get a straight answer on whether automation is worth it for you.

    20 minutes · free
  2. Agree the plan and the wording

You get a short written summary of what we'll set up, what it costs and what each message will say. Nothing is built until you approve it.

    In writing
  3. Build and test

Our technical partner builds it. We test it with you, using your own phone, before anything goes live.

    Tested with you
  4. Live and looked after

The phone networks run a short business check before texts can go out, so we collect those details early. Once you're live, we check it's working and adjust it with you.

Who you're dealing with

A business built on a problem I kept seeing.

Kingsley Powers, founder

I'm Kingsley Powers, and I started Best Be Booked.

I've worked in project and commercial roles with different firms in several countries, and I ran my own landscaping and groundworks business, which earned around 30 five-star reviews from its customers. Different industries, same pattern. Businesses worked hard and spent real money to win enquiries, then lost a share of them afterwards. A call missed on site. A reply sent the next day. A quote nobody followed up.

It was rarely laziness. It was busy people being asked to remember too many small things.

I know that from the inside. In my own business I was the one doing the work and the one meant to be answering the phone. Automation is good at exactly this kind of problem: it doesn't get busy and it doesn't forget. Used properly, it handles the repetitive follow-up and leaves the conversations, the quoting and the relationships with people.

I've changed direction and rebuilt parts of my own life along the way. It's left me with one firm rule: take responsibility for the result. You'll deal with me directly, and I'm accountable for what we put in place.

Straight answers

What you can hold us to, and what we won't claim.

Best Be Booked is a new business. We'd rather earn your trust by being specific than by making big claims.

You can hold us to

  • Every message is written with you and approved by you before it goes live.
  • You keep your number, and calls you answer work exactly as they do now.
  • A written plan and price before anything is built.
  • One person to deal with: the founder.
  • No contract. If it isn't earning its place, you can stop.

We won't

  • Promise a number of extra jobs. That depends on your market, your prices and how you follow up.
  • Let automation say anything to your customers that you haven't approved.
  • Sell you technology for its own sake. If the check shows it isn't worth it for you, we'll say so.
  • Use your customers' details for anything other than your messages.

Questions

What business owners usually ask.

Anything else, ask Kingsley on the enquiry check or email [email protected].

Do I keep my phone number?

Yes. Customers keep ringing the number they already use, and calls you answer work exactly as they do now. Calls you miss are passed through to our system so the text can go out. The text comes from a separate business number we set up for you, and replies come straight through to you.

Will my customers be talking to a robot?

No. Your customer gets a text written in your words, sent as soon as you miss their call or they send an enquiry. When they reply, you pick up the conversation yourself whenever you're free. We use plain automation for this, and AI only where it clearly helps and you've approved exactly what it does.

What if something goes wrong?

Each automation does one simple job, set off by a clear event such as a missed call, and we test every one with you before it goes live. If a message ever looks wrong, tell Kingsley and we'll pause it straight away while it's fixed. Your phone keeps working as normal throughout.

What does it cost?

The core service is £197 a month, with no contract and no minimum term. You'll get the full price in writing before anything is set up. Anything beyond the core is scoped and quoted separately, and you decide whether it's worth doing.

How much of my time will it take?

Very little. The enquiry check takes 20 minutes. After that we need your approval on the wording and a few business details for the phone networks' check. We handle the rest.

Will it work with what I already use?

The core service runs alongside your existing phone and website. Connecting other tools, such as your calendar or job management software, depends on the software, so we check that on the enquiry check before promising anything.

Couldn't my staff just do this?

They could, and some businesses manage it. The difference is consistency. A person replies when they're free; automation replies every time, including evenings and weekends. Your team then spends its time on the conversations that need a person.

Why trust a new business?

It's a fair question. We don't have years of case studies to show you yet. What you do get is the founder dealing with you directly, a written plan before anything is built, testing with you before go-live, and no contract. If it isn't earning its place, you can stop.

What about my customers' data and UK GDPR?

Your customers' details are only used to send the messages you've approved. We don't sell them or use them for anything else, and we'll delete them if you ask.
